The second of a 3 part course on how to photograph people in the studio. The format of the courses is a hands-on workshop with classroom sessions in the morning and practical photo shoots in the afternoon. It is recommended that part one is covered before parts two and three, however, the courses are designed so that part three can be completed before part two.

In part two we build on what is learnt in part one by adding working with multiple studio flash heads and with “hot” lamps. In addition to more studio flash work you will work with both constant fresnel and focussing spots to create a number of different lighting set-ups. We study the use of kickers and rim lighting to give a more three dimensional effect to images. Finally we will look at a number of ways to create the popular white seamless style, including using a Lastolite HiLite, that is so popular in family portraits.

Students are encouraged to submit work for critique after the workshop.

What previous students have said about this course: ‘Thank you for yesterday it was not only enjoyable but also instructive and worthwhile…it was really good to meet them and they were so easy to work with. I did learn a few new things about light set ups and then more I thought about the whole of the day the more I realised just how much more i picked up from Andrew about the whole concept of lighting, so all in all a very good day.’
